JANET M GRENDER (BS Business) VP MARKETING

Janet and Don Grender are life-long residents of Mt. Horeb, where they met at a Summer Frolic and were high school sweethearts.  The Grender’s recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, a testimony to their commitment to each other.  In their spare time, the Grender’s enjoy bass fishing, camping and gardening.

Their personal life experiences as foster and adoptive parents of special needs children bring the inside experience of parenting high-risk children through the emotional, financial, mental and physical ups and downs of “system life”.

Janet received her BS in Business in 2007 from Upper Iowa University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.  She has returned as a guest speaker for many classes at Upper Iowa since graduating, where Janet captivates her audiences with the business of project management and e:commerce as well as insight to the process of writing a successful senior project.

A corporate professional for more than 25 years, Janet has experience in the workings of a corporation.  Her business expertise in human resources, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, grant writing, marketing and professional services makes her the best choice for Event Planning, Marketing and Administrative know-how.

Don has worked for a major grocer for more than 26 years, and has for the past 10 years served as crossing guard for the village of Mt. Horeb.  Because of his dedication to the safety of the children, Don was distinctly honored with the “Friends of Education” award in 2008.

Over the years, Don & Janet have both served on numerous church committees (building & grounds, worship & music, education, cemetery and building project) and Janet also served as Contemporary Church Secretary and Sunday School Superintendent for many years.

Passionate about the future of youth, education and community, the Grenders’ are a great source of of knowledge and concern, making them a natural part of the Youth Care family.
